Evidence
This course covers the traditional evidence topics such as relevance, privileges, lay and expert witnesses, opinions scientific evidence, authentication and hearsay largely in the context of the Federal Rules of Evidence codification. Outside class, students learn the law of evidence largely from readings in a treatise instead of by reading individual cases. In class, students work from two case files, one criminal and one civil. Based on problems assigned for each class, students taking the role of advocates in those cases argue the evidentiary principles being studied as they arise in the cases.
Please note that course organization and content may vary substantially from semester to semester and descriptions are not necessarily professor specific. Please contact the instructor directly if you have particular course-related questions.
