Law Firm Sponsorship- Blueprint Benefactors

Dear Colleagues,
Over the past several years, law firm sponsorships have become the foundation of support for a wide variety of programs, events, and student leadership activities at Duke Law School. These activities and programs have provided great opportunities for students to build relationships, engage intellectually, and practice professionalism. These goals, among others, are highlighted in the Duke Law Blueprint – a powerful set of principles for leadership growth that is integrated into every aspect of our community.
I am pleased to announce a more formal approach to managing annual law firm sponsorships that will allow the Law School to pool resources and efforts and thank our sponsors in a more consistent and visible manner each year. Anchored around the Duke Law Blueprint, the Blueprint Benefactors program gives law firms an opportunity to support students in several ways. As Blueprint Benefactors, participating law firms will receive institutional and event recognition as a sponsor and the opportunity for interaction with our students, thus raising the firm’s profile and deepening its engagement as a member of the Duke Law community.
In the past, interested firms have approached the law school or individual student groups directly. Our students have also solicited firms on an as-needed basis throughout the year. To streamline this process, faculty, staff, and students have worked together to create a menu of sponsorship opportunities for the 2009-2010 academic year. I invite you to sponsor one or more of the menu items listed. Sponsorships provided by your firm will directly support all or a portion of the event(s). Should there be money left over from your contribution at the end of the fiscal year, the extra funds will generally support the activities of other student organizations.
As we continue to build our relationship with your firm, we will communicate with you directly with updates on the Law School, as well as provide you with information about other, more permanent, gift opportunities for your firm. Please review the information on our Blueprint Benefactors website. Should this program be better handled by another person in your firm, please pass this information along.
As this program is designed on a first come, first served basis, I encourage you to submit your sponsorship interest form as soon as possible. Once you have done so, a member of our Alumni and Development Office will contact you. If you have any questions about this program, please feel free to contact blueprintbenefactors@law.duke.edu.
Sincerely,
Dean David F. Levi
